Carmel Valley is an affluent, master-planned community that has matured into a place where people can live, work and play. Carmel Valley elementary students are serviced by both the Solana Beach Elementary School District and the Del Mar Union School District. Middle school and high school students attend schools within the San Dieguito High School District. Torrey Pines High School has been recognized by Newsweek Magazine as one of “America’s Best High Schools,” while the San Diego Jewish Academy and Cathedral Catholic High School are widely considered to be among the country’s best private Catholic and Jewish institutions.
Carmel Valley’s main shopping areas are the Del Mar Highlands Town Center and One Paseo. Two additional shopping plazas, Piazza Carmel and Torrey Hills Center offer an abundance of dining, retail, grocers, and services for the community. The One Paseo development, located directly across the street from the Del Mar Highlands Town Center offers Carmel Valley residents a unique alternative for retail, office space, and residential living. To the east, the Village at Pacific Highlands Ranch also offers a mixed-use center, which allows residents access to dining, grocery, boutiques, and a fitness gym.
Carmel Valley is home to the luxury golf resort and spa, the Fairmont Grand Del Mar. The Meadows Del Mar residential community is a collection of luxury homes surrounding the Fairmont Grand Del Mar resort, many with stunning views of the golf course and resort.
