What to Expect When Buyers Tour Your Home

selling your home feedback

Once your home hits the market, showings are one of the most important steps in attracting the right buyer. While every buyer is different, there are a few things sellers can do to set the stage for a great first impression.

Before the Showing

  • Keep it Bright: Turn on all the lights so the home feels warm and inviting.

  • Let in the Views: Open blinds and curtains to showcase natural light and highlight outdoor spaces.

  • Step Out: Buyers are more comfortable when they can freely explore and imagine themselves in the home without the seller present.

After the Showing

Once buyers leave, we’ll follow up with their agent to request feedback. Sometimes this comes quickly, sometimes it takes a few days, and unfortunately, not every agent responds. When feedback is available, we’ll share it with you in whichever communication style you prefer — call, text, or email.

Keep in mind that silence is also a form of feedback. If buyers don’t return with questions, schedule a second showing, or make an offer, it often means the property wasn’t the right fit for them. Over time, the pattern of responses — or lack of them — helps us evaluate how the market is reacting to your home.

The Goal

Our job is to make sure you’re not left wondering what’s happening behind the scenes. From guiding you on how to prepare for showings to chasing down feedback, we’re committed to making the process as smooth and transparent as possible.
